On the edge of the Mississippi River, in downtown Minneapolis, there’s a park that is filled with history. Ruins of the 19th-century Minneapolis flour industry, largely powered by the great river, are beautifully juxtaposed against the modern steel and glass buildings. This area has profound meaning to James and Katherine; this part of Minneapolis is where they’ve built their relationship and grown together.

On their wedding day, the light drizzle in the morning added to the romance of their handwritten notes to each other, their personal vows, their emotional first look… these two have a timeless love that felt so perfect in the ruins. There on the foundation of the Mill City Ruins, they laid the foundation for their marriage to begin. It was an honor to capture their wedding and we are so excited to share their wedding film!
